A student patrol member notified an officer at 11:53 p.m. that a group of people were suspiciously entering and exiting a vehicle in the Towers Lot. When the officer arrived at the scene, the student patrol said the group was headed towards Towers Hall.
The officer met the group near the volleyball courts and noted the people were cooperative. One man in the group had a bag and the officer spotted a can of beer in it. When asked, everyone in the group said they were less than 21 years of age. The officer asked to see the bag, and found several more cans of beer and one bottle of rum inside. The officer then made the group pour out the alcohol into the snow and dispose of the cans.
The officer then asked what the group had been doing in the Towers Lot. They had been waiting for the "drunk bus," they said. The officer asked if there was anything in the car that shouldn't be and the group said there was more alcohol. They were then escorted to the car to retrieve the alcohol, which was promptly dumped out and properly disposed of as well.
The group said they had not been drinking and agreed to preliminary breath tests. All tests came back at .00. The group was given warnings for possessing alcohol, since they were under-aged, but was also thanked for being honest.
