At 11:04 p.m., the communications center dispatched officers to Murray Hall after a resident assistant reported the smell of burnt marijuana. Once they arrived, the officers met with the RA who said the odor of the drug was near one of the rooms in the building. The officers went to the room the RA specified, but couldn't detect any unusual smells. They knocked on the door of the room, but no one answered.
The officers then tried the next room and were greeted by two men whose eyes were bloodshot. The officers explained about the unexpected arrival and asked to enter the room. The men agreed, and admitted they had smoked marijuana outside before the officers came. A green, leafy substance was in a paper bowl on one of the desks and a box of banana cigarette rolling paper was next to it.
Both men were cooperative, and said there was nothing else in the room. They agreed to a search of the room, and beer was found. The officers made the men pour the alcohol down the sink. When the leafy substance was tested, it was shown to be positive for TCH.
