Twelve counties in west-central Wisconsin will recieve more than $129 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

The money will go to various programs, including reading programs at Eau Claire District schools, immunizations for children in need and economic development loans.

Some of the funding will be dispersed to businesses to aid development in the private sector as well as go to building and renovation projects.

Wisconsin has received almost $2 billion since the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act was passed, with more than half of the funding being spent on education.
