Essay contest to offer scholarship prizes

UW-Eau Claire students are encouraged to enter the UW System's fifth annual Liberal Arts Essay Scholarship Competition for the opportunity to receive recognition and scholarships, according to a university press release.
In UW-Eau Claire's local competition, finalists will receive $500 from the UW-Eau Claire Foundation for education expenses in the 2010-11 school year. The finalists' essays will then compete against essays from around the UW System. Two winners will receive a $2,000 scholarship and recognition at a UW System ceremony.
Eligible students are those who are in good academic standing, will complete 30 credits by the end of the semester and will enroll fulltime for the fall 2010 semester. Essays must be submitted by Feb. 5, 2010, to sloanj@uwec.edu.
