As the University prepares to discuss/learn about the Blugold Commitment, I feel that it is necessary to voice concern from a Student Senator perspective. I have been on Student Senate since the fall of my sophomore year and have grown concerned about the lack of real student input on the Blugold Commitment. There is not a proposal outlined that has been shown to the Student Senate at large. Almost all student senators accept that there is a lack of student's awareness. The proposal lacks definition, and despite what may be said, there is a lack of real compromise from administration on the proposed rise in differential tuition. Students and Student Senators have the right and need to express their views. This is not a done deal and there is significant opposition to it inside of Student Senate. Please, reach out to your Student Senators and Administrators about the lack of transparency. It is our education, let us make sure any changes are made with us involved. Please email me at USERNAME: johnsjak. We want to hear from you and make sure that ALL student opinions are considered.
