Registration is now open for the Civil Rights Pilgrimage trip over winter break. Fifty students will have the opportunity to spend Jan. 8 through18 visiting historical sites important to the Civil Rights Movement.

Transportation, lodging and museum admissions will cost $350. Registration will be in the Student Senate Office in Davies Center or at the Civil Rights Pilgrimage Web site.

While traveling to places like the birthplace of Martin Luther King Jr., the Rosa Parks Museum and Library, and the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, students on the trip will also conduct a service-learning project.

Students have the opportunity to register for a three-credit travel seminar relating to women who were involved in the American Civil Rights Movement. There is also an opportunity to participate in a faculty-student research project.
