At 6:46 p.m., an officer was sent to the library because of an elevator malfunction. The officer was told that car number three was stuck on the fifth floor with a person inside. The officer arrived at the scene and turned off the power to the car. The officer then went up to the fifth floor and opened the doors to the car, where he found the person who had been trapped. The man said he was all right, and the officer informed a library employee about the malfunction so a repair for the elevator could be scheduled.
