He may not be Lance Armstrong, but he does say he loves sustainability.

Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich, along with members of the Clean Commute Initiative, will lead a 21-mile group bicycle ride on Sunday.

The first such bicycle ride, named the Tour de Chancellor, is a fundraiser to improve campus bicycle parking. Suggested donations are $10 for the public and $5 for UW-Eau Claire students.

The non-competitive ride will wind through Eau Claire and Altoona on trails and city streets. The ride begins and ends at Schofield Hall.

Check-in for registered cyclists begins at 1:30 p.m., rain or shine, at Schofield Circle. Register online at http://people.uwec.edu/millerjs/cycling.

Levin-Stankevich will buy all participants a slice of pie at the Altoona Family Restaurant, according to a university press release.

The Clean Commute Initiative urges people to bike, rollerblade, walk, carpool or use public transportation when traveling to and from the university.

For more information about the Tour de Chancellor, contact Doug Faulkner at 715-836-5166 or faulkndj@uwec.edu.
