Sunday, Sept. 20

After a fire truck was dispatched to Governor's Hall, an officer went to investigate the situation. The RA on duty told him in which room the fire had occured and that the women in the room said flames started coming from the vent.

The officer and firefighters headed to the fourth floor to examine the room. They found no flames but noticed mild smoke. An on-call university mechanic was contacted and arrived soon after. The mechanic removed the heater's motor and said it had burnt out.

Because the room was still smoky, the girls said that they would stay somewhere else for the night.
