The Veterans Center will host an open house to welcome veterans to the new facilities from 9 to 11 a.m. on Sept. 10, according to a university press release. The event will be held in Room 20 of Schofield Hall.
Veterans at UW-Eau Claire are welcome to visit the center, enjoy refreshments and meet other veterans on campus. At 9:30 a.m. Beth Hellwig, the vice chancellor for student affairs and dean of students, will give a presentation.
The Veterans Center is designed to support the needs of UW-Eau Claire's veteran students. The center will serve as a resource for veterans, providing space for support groups, information and veteran needs programming. With a partnership with the Veterans Administration Hospital in Minneapolis, telehealth network access will also be available at the new center.
