Dazed and confused
Saturday, April 25

At 1:25 a.m. an officer was traveling down Garfield Avenue hill when she saw a man on the sidewalk bent over and leaning on the side rail with one hand. The officer noticed the man was swaying and had snot dripping from his face.

The officer approached the man as he was stumbling toward Hilltop Center and was trying to talk on his cell phone. The man told the officer he was "going home." The officer noticed the man was very unstable and his speech was slurred to the point where he wasn't making sense.

The officer asked for identification, and the man took two credit cards from his wallet. The officer asked again, pointing to the license she could see in the man's wallet. The man told the officer he lived on Farwell Street. He said he was going to see his sister at Towers but then said he lived on campus. The man said he was a student and again told the officer he lived on Farwell Street.

The officer asked the man if he wanted a cab ride home, and he said yes. She notified the communication center to call for a cab to pick up the man at the designated location.
