What a night
Sunday, April 19

At 4:02 a.m., an officer was contacted by the communication center because a man could be heard yelling "Help me" by Putnam Drive near the State Street tunnel. The officer requested that an Eau Claire city officer assist.

While on Putnam Drive, the communication center told the officer that two more calls came in about a man yelling for help and that he could not get home.

The officer located a male on Putnam Drive.

The man was walking barefoot, his pants were backwards and were covered in mud and feces, judging from the smell.

The man said he had started drinking around 9 p.m. and continued until 3 a.m. He said he had been separated from his roommate and started walking. The man did not know how he ended up on Putnam Drive and did not remember how he lost his shoes and underwear, or why his pants were backwards.

After asking him questions about the evening and what happened, the officer gave the man a ride home.
