Tommy Chong just left
Friday, March 27

At 10:20 p.m., a student patrol contacted an officer about a large group of students waiting for the party bus near Towers. The person said there was a strong odor of burnt marijuana near the group but was unable to narrow down who it was coming from. The officer arrived and walked to the group, but could not see anyone smoking marijuana or smell the odor of it.

The officer stayed until the group left.

What alcohol?
Thursday, April 2

At 1:10 a.m., two officers in a patrol car in the Towers parking lot saw a car traveling at high speeds stop in front of Murray Hall, then go down Garfield Hill. The officer turned on his emergency lights and pulled the car over.

The officer saw the driver reach to the backseat and shuffle things around. When they approached the vehicle, the second officer observed a liquor bottle in the rear passenger side window.

The officer asked the driver to step out of the car and asked her about the bottle. She said she had been studying at the library and picked up friends from a party so she could drop them off at their residences. She said she did not know the alcohol was in the car and that the car belonged to a friend.

The officer issued the driver a citation for underage transport of alcohol to the driver and poured the alcohol out.
