I would like to make a comment on the article called Lez Zeppelin.
I disagree completely in the fact that this group is not the first to be played at major festivals or even to recreate the music of Led Zeppelin to the fullest ability.
The listeners of Led Zeppelin were male and female and is not characterized as "macho music" Led Zeppelin performed in the era where men and women enjoyed all type of music and gathered together as one feeling the songs penetrate their minds.
To say that Led Zeppelin is considered "macho music" is to say that Jimi Hendrix's music was "macho music." That is just ridiculous.
I myself, being a female, love Led Zeppelin and was brought up to like all sorts of genres, not just genres that expressed femininity.
I have been lucky to see an extremely talented tribute band at the Riverside Theatre in Milwaukee. This band is called, The Music of Led Zeppelin and features the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. They include female performers in the orchestra who play the music of Led Zeppelin. So yes women "can do this."
I completely disagree that there are social constructs in the role of men and women playing music since obviously the MSO did not deny women the opportunity to play just because it would be the sound of Led Zeppelin.
Lez Zeppelin may be the first women tribute band of Led Zeppelin to be recognized but they certainly are way off on their ideas and beliefs of the unforgettable band called Led Zeppelin.
