Issue date: 4/2/09 Section: University Briefs
The Center for International Education is extending its application deadline for their Peer guide program. The new deadline is now April 8. Peer guides provide support to new international students during international student orientation week. They present new international students with an introduction to American culture, the campus, and campus resources.
Peer guides must attend Peer Guide training week, which prepares them to help new students. They also help during International Student Orientation Week. Being a peer guide is a volunteer position, but they do receive $100 stipend after completion of the two weeks.
