Once was lost...but now am found
Tuesday, March 24

At 8:25 p.m., an officer was contacted by a taxi driver for Door2Door Taxi. The driver said he had a wallet in his cab from the weekend and was returning it.

The officer asked if the wallet had been lost on campus or in the city, but the driver wasn't sure. The driver initially brought the wallet to the Eau Claire Police Department, but an officer referred him to the university police. The wallet had several cards and a check in it.

Using the campus directory, the officer identified the owner as a UW-Eau Claire student and notified him his wallet had been found. The owner said he was in Schneider Hall and would meet the officer at the doors on Park Avenue. When they met, the man told the officer nothing was missing from the wallet.

At 4:15 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the entrance of the library on a report of people on rollerblades jumping off the steps at the location. When the officer arrived, he was unable to find anyone at the entrances of the library or in the Campus Mall area.

The officer did eventually speak to some rollerbladers in a residential area off campus. They told the officer they were not the individuals who were on campus.

The officer informed the men of the ordinance regarding rollerblading on campus property, and the men were cooperative.
