UW-Eau Claire students will explore internship opportunities and gather employment tips during Internship Mania 2009.

The free event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 11 in the Tamarack and Council Fire Rooms of Davies Center. Organizations, businesses and agencies from the Chippewa Valley and other parts of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and Iowa will be at the event.

Recruiters will field questions about their companies, accept resumes for internship opportunities and share information about their industries. A complete list of participating employers is available online.

A breakfast social will precede the event from 8 to 10 a.m. in the Alumni Room of Davies Center. This is an opportunity for students to get to know employers and begin networking.

Career Services is also offering a free event to help students prepare for Internship Mania.

"Employer Research Day" will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday in the Career Services' office in Schofield Hall. Career Services staff will research prospective employers and opportunities available. Students can get help with their resumes and receive tips on how to talk to employers at Internship Mania.

Internship Mania is sponsored by UW-Eau Claire Student Organizations and Career Services. Monetary sponsors include Northwestern Mutual Financial Network: The Bohannon Group, Virchow, Krause & Company, LLP and the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Co.
