False alarm
Sunday, Jan. 23

At 9:23 a.m., an officer received a call from the University Police cell phone in reference to a sounding fire alarm at McPhee Center.
The officer contacted the communication center, which indicated that no call from the security company had been received. He then located the pull station with the alarm. A second officer reset the pull station in McPhee while the first officer reset the alarm.
The first officer contacted the communication center a second time to ask if the security company contacted them about the alarm.
The communication center told the officer that they had not received a call.

A real workout
Wednesday, Jan. 28

At 11:16 p.m., an officer on foot patrol saw a group of three men and one woman walking behind McPhee Center. He saw one man drink from a can and throw it to the ground at the top of the wooden stairs behind the building.
The officer saw that it was an empty can of Keystone Light beer. He then stopped the group.
The officer spoke to them and asked who threw the can. One man told the officer he threw it because he wanted to get rid of it so he would not get caught.
The officer could smell alcohol on the man and noticed his eyes were bloodshot and glassy. The man told the officer that he drank around three shots of alcohol and two beers.
The man registered at .17 on a Preliminary Breath Test. He was the only member of the group who was drinking.
The officer issued him a citation for underage drinking, first offense. After he explained the violation, the group was allowed to leave.
