At 8:40 a.m., an officer was assigned to an animal case at Bollinger Field, where there was a dog reportedly running loose near the soccer field.

Upon arriving at Bollinger Field, the officer saw the dog running toward the baseball diamond near West Hamilton Avenue.

The dog was tan in color and looked like a golden retriever or a yellow lab.

The officer couldn't catch the dog, because it ran away every time the officer came within 20 yards of it.

The officer called the Eau Claire Police Department's animal control officer for help and tried to catch the dog again while
waiting.

The officer lost sight of the dog and he and the animal control officer could not find it again.
