Steps should be taken to make the dorms more green

I am happy about the "go green" effort on campus.
The good voter turnouts shows that students care about their environment, and even though some (ignorant) students complain about the "Trayless Tuesday," the university should stick to it.
One area, which should also be considered to "go green," are the dorms. Starting with wrong recycling, heavy water waste in the bathrooms, central heating which turns many floors into a sauna or energy waste, are just some topics which should be worked on immediately.
Hall directors, RAs and residents should start "green" initiatives in their own rooms, wings and dorms. How about a "most efficient dorm" or "best recycling floor" competition? Those actions not only improve the environment but also save money.
