At 2:35 a.m., an officer was parked observing traffic on Chippewa Street. The officer saw a vehicle drive by and checked the vehicle registration in the data records. The registration for the vehicle was suspended for failure to pay a parking ticket. The officer then stopped the vehicle. The driver told the officer who he was, because he did not have a license on him. The man told the officer he did not know about the suspension and said his girlfriend takes care of the registration issues with the vehicle. The officer found the man's license had also expired. The man also told the officer he did not know the license was suspended and he must have forgotten to renew it. The officer issued the man a citation for operating without a valid driver's license and a citation for vehicle operated with a suspended registration, both first offenses. The man parked in a legal parking spot when pulled over and afterwards walked to a friend's house.
