At 2:12 a.m., an officer noticed a man walking on the sidewalk behind Human Sciences and Services. The man saw the officer, turned around and walked in the opposite direction. The officer drove onto the sidewalk and saw the man lying on the ground behind a bench. The man was identified by his driver's license. The officer asked the man why he had walked away and tried to hide, and the man said he had consumed alcohol in the past few hours. The man told the officer he drank one shot and six or seven beers. The officer could smell alcohol coming from the man's breath while talking to him. The man submitted to a preliminary breath test and registered a .15. The officer told the man he was going to be issued a citation for underage drinking, first offense. The man agreed; admitting to the officer what he did was "stupid."
