At 7:40 p.m., an officer noticed a vehicle parked near the exit of Putnam Park. Upon shining his stop lamp into the vehicle, the officer noticed the passenger had his seat reclined back.

The officer asked the driver to step out of the vehicle and then asked him what he and the other man were doing. The driver said he and the man had recently met over the Internet and were talking and getting to know each other.

Without being asked, the driver told the officer that nothing sexual was taking place. The officer then asked the driver to return to the vehicle while he spoke with the other man, who verified the driver's statements.

The officer told the driver that campus police officers routinely check vehicles parked on Putnam Drive and suggested that a public place, such as a restaurant, would be a better place to talk.
