Friday, Sept. 19

At 10:08 p.m., an officer was on bicycle patrol behind the Haas Fine Arts Center. The officer observed a man walking a short distance into the wooded area near the footbridge stairs. The officer rode over to the man and shined his flashlight on the man. The officer saw that he was urinating.
The officer asked why the man had urinated in the woods and the man said he had to go and couldn't wait to use the bathroom. The officer could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the man while talking to him. The officer also noticed the man's speech was slurred and that his eyes were glassy in appearance.
The man told the officer that he had consumed one drink of vodka and Coke about 30 minutes before the officer stopped him. The man submitted to a preliminary breath test of .10. The officer issued the man a citation for underage drinking, first offense. He then gave the man a verbal warning for Deposit of Human Waste.
