He hopes the ceremony, beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Davies Theatre, will bring him a lot of little statuettes.

"Duh," Keller said jokingly. "I'm hoping for the clean sweep… I hope everyone enjoys it … gets a good laugh out of it."

Keller's film is one of three that have been entered into the ST.I.F.FE's. The event, now a staple event in UAC's yearly lineup, began nine years ago with former UAC Film Committee chair Robb Wadzinski, as the Film Committee wanted to do more things and to get more activity, said freshman Film Committee chairperson Sarah Dobs.

Initially, it began with simply presenting a best film award to a film submitted to the Film Committee for the event. But as the years went on the Committee wanted to make it more interesting. Thus, the Committee added best visual medium, best story, and the audience award, Dobs said.

"We show all the films that were handed in to the audience, and then at the end after everyone has watched the audience votes because there is an audience award," said Dobs. "Then after they vote and we get the scores then we present our decision to the nominees."

In order to prepare for the event, the Committee has been advertising with newspapers, on posters around campus, and on the university television station TV10. Then, the Committee judges the submitted movies when they come in and decides the winners of the three categories they hand out each year.
