Spring elections were held Tuesday in Wisconsin. In Eau Claire, six candidates ran for five at-large city council seats, including three incumbents. There was also a two-man race for a 10-year spot on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, a referendum on the Eau Claire city ballot for voters to decide whether city council terms should be extended from two to three years, while the other was a statewide question about limiting the Frankenstein veto power of the office of the governor, which allows for reconstruction of words by erasing individual letters in a bill.

In the council race, incumbents Kerry Kincaid, Thomas Vue and Brandon Buchanan all kept their seats. Newcomers Larry Balow and Jackie Pavelski also won seats. Scott Gunem was the only candidate not to earn a seat by receiving the least amount of votes. With 38 of 39 precincts reporting, Kincaid led all candidates with 4,700 votes, while Balow came in second with 4,535. Vue, Buchanan and Pavelski received 4,480, 4,270 and 4,050 votes, respectively. Gunem received 3,606.

In the Supreme Court race, incumbent Justice Louis Butler was defeated by Judge Michael Gableman 51 percent to 49 percent statewide.

Voters supported extending city council terms from two to three years by 3,811 to 3,301 votes.

Statewide voters overwhelmingly supported limiting the Frankenstein veto with 71 percent voting yes.

In the Eau Claire County Board district 22 election, Ken Fulgione defeated incumbent Sue Miller.
