The Spectator spoke with junior Derek LaBar, president of the Bowling Club.

What does the Bowling Club do?

The Bowling Club is an intramural sport club. We meet every week and bowl in 5-person teams. You don't have to be a good bowler to join. There is also a bowling team that competes in tournaments against other Wisconsin colleges.

What does the traveling team do?

We compete in the Wisconsin Collegiate Bowling Conference with 12 other men's teams and 10 other women's teams. We compete in four conference meets around the state and other tournaments around the country. Right now, the men's team is leading the conference.

How can students join the traveling team?

We hold tryouts at the beginning of the year. Six men and six women are picked based on their scores and how well they know the game.

When does the Bowling Club meet?

The Bowling Club has two separate leagues that meet at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. every Wednesday in the Bowling and Billiards Center in Hilltop Center. We'll start up again at the beginning of the spring semester.

How can students get involved?

Sign up at the BBC. In the fall, you can sign up at the Blugold Organizations Bash. You can choose your own team or we can put you on one.
