Inside the locker room: Jeff Peterson

Hometown/High school: Edina, Minn./Edina
Favorite tennis player: Roger Federer
Favorite sports movie: Miracle, because I played hockey back in the day.
Music you listen to before matches: Hip-hop
Most memorable moment as a UW-Eau Claire athlete: Beating my former doubles partner down in Luther (Iowa); he was my high school doubles partner. We played No. 1 doubles together and my sophomore year we beat them 9-8 in a tiebreaker.
Biggest rival in your sport and why: Luther. We played them each of the last couple years. We've never beat them, but we kind of recruit the same players. A lot of Minnesota guys go to Eau Claire and go down to Luther, so we know a lot of guys on their team. Another rival might be UW-La Crosse because they have the same talent level and we've beaten them the last couple years.
Favorite WIAC school to travel to: La Crosse because we've been so successful there.
If you could play another sport at the university, what would it be: Hockey or golf. I grew up playing hockey from first to 10th grade, so hockey's kind of in my blood. And golf is just my passion right now in the off-season … but I'm probably not good enough to play on the team.
Role tennis played in your decision to come to Eau Claire: It was a big role. I knew I wanted to play college tennis. That along with a beautiful campus here, a good school and being able to play tennis is a good combination.
Favorite bar in Eau Claire: Brother's or Dooley's.
Inside the Locker Room is compiled by the sports editors at The Spectator and appears every Thursday.
