Senate leadership officially announced its appointments for four paid positions left vacant by a string of resignations and is still working to fill several unpaid senator seats.

Major personnel changes announced include the appointment of Raymond French as treasurer and chief of staff, Aaron Brewster as director of Finance, Matt Nelson as director of Intergovernmental Affairs, and Karen Sykora as director of Organizations.

Of those appointees, all are previous members of Senate except for Sykora.

Vice President Christopher Nielson said the appointment of a Senate outsider was necessary, with veteran applicants fulfilling other positions.

"We had kind of used up the pool of applicants," Nielson said.

Sophomore Elizabeth Schinke will fill the position of United Council Delegation Leader.
Senate members also introduced three pieces of legislation at the body's Monday night meeting, all of which went to committee and will resurface at its next meeting.
