Unclaimed wreck

At 5:03 a.m., an officer saw a bicycle near the bicycle rack at 800 Putnam Drive.
The bike was missing its wheels and had a broken shifting mechanism.
After checking the bike's serial number through the communication center to find it was not stolen, the officer checked its Stevens Point registration number with the Stevens Point Police Department.
No one had reported the bike stolen.
The man who owned the bike was not a UW-Eau Claire student.
The officer placed the bike frame into University Police property.
