Comedic, witty play debuts tonight at Riverside

Beginning this week, the UW-Eau Claire theatre arts department is set to debut one of playwright Larry Shue's finest comedic productions. The contemporary play, "The Foreigner," with its dark comic robustness and intelligent banter, has been alluring and enchanting theatergoers since its inception in the 1980s.

In review: O Lucky Man!

"O Lucky Man!" doesn't start off with a big bang, nor does anything major happen in its over two and a half hour running time. Lots of little things happen, culminating with an over the top ending that will likely leave most viewers scratching their heads. With that in mind however, it certainly makes a lasting impression and essentially accomplishes its goal of making the viewer constructively think about what it is trying to convey.

The Vienna Boys Choir will be visiting Eau Claire for the second time, returning to the Artists Series after 15 seasons, and is set to perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Zorn Arena. The group's musical repertoire is set to include a wide variety of music, including Austrian composers, sacred traditional music and even some modern and contemporary music, Zimmermann said.
