Anti-abortion politicians threaten reproductive rights

This Jan. 22 marked the 35th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court decision establishing a woman's right to choose a legal, safe abortion without interference by politicians. While we celebrate this decision still stands as the law of the land, the anniversary also reminds us that anti-choice politicians are slowly chipping away at the fundamental rights Roe protects.

One on-campus event not only challenges beliefs, it also demoralizes the status of women. "The Vagina Monologues" have opened my eyes to a lot on Eau Claire and college campuses across the nation. The saddest part is that most people - especially women - have turned a blind eye to the ulterior message of this annual on-campus event. Let's take a second look.
