'Dog' didn't deserve charges for getting fugitive in Mexico

This past Friday was a difficult day for me. As I was channel surfing, I saw one of my most favorite reality TV stars, Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman, as vulnerable as ever, pleading his case on an MSNBC talk show, to not be sent to Mexico to stand trial.

Engaging in tasteless banter is all the rage for this generation of entertainment-radio disc jockeys who are adequately dubbed "shock-jocks". Former CBS shock-jock Don Imus is no exception to the casual slur made against women, homosexuals and other religious affiliations by members of the media, according to an article by NBC news correspondent Dennis Murphy.

The Recording Industry Association of America's threat is real at UW-Eau Claire. According an April 16 article in The Spectator, freshman Courtney Dokkestul accepted an out-of-court settlement with the RIAA to the tune of $3,000. Dokkestul is dropping out of school because of the fine, according to the article.

Pro-choice and pro-life - there aren't two other "pro" words in the English language that can lead to harsher judgments of character or lifestyle. Who would've thought two positive-prefixed words could bring on so much condemnation and negative stereotyping? From the pro-choice corner, someone who is pro-life is a sexist, closed-minded, Bible-thumping Christian.
